The Aurora touchscreen is the ultimate command center, designed specifically for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operators. It provides faster data transfer, greater range, and a complete set of features to navigate underground safely and efficiently.
Aurora AF8
- 8.4-inch touchscreen display, mountable as a standalone unit or panel integrated.
- Durable color keypad with support for LWD Live, Target Steering, and other applications that enhance jobsite productivity.

Preloaded Applications for Aurora
- LWD Live: Displays real-time drilling data, recording each drill rod to provide a complete picture of the pilot bore. Includes R1 plan data with terrain and underground utility information.
- Target Steering: Locating technicians position the Falcon locator ahead of the drill and set a target point—ideal when surface locating is unreliable or impractical. Displays the estimated depth the drill head will reach at the current pitch.
- Configure: Manages LWD Live and Bore Plan files; imports data from the mobile app, creates and assigns projects, and removes old ones.
- Frequency Change: Guides the operator through the procedure for changing the transmitter frequency band using the “10-2-7” or “Repeating Roll Sequence (RRS3)” methods.
- Strip Chart: Monitors fluid temperature and/or pressure over time; the graph updates continuously and includes preset levels for warnings and critical values.
Falcon Compact Display (FCD)
- A rugged and affordable entry-level display, ideal for smaller machines and mini-rigs.
- Power source: Lithium-ion battery or NiMH pack.
- Display type: LCD.
- Telemetry range: 1000 ft (~305 m).
